Expected result with ^PR
^PR3 requests a print speed of 3 inches per second if supported by the model. Compare the same text and code at another supported speed while keeping media and darkness unchanged. Record which setting produces distinct, readable bars.
What should I check if ^PR does not give the expected result?
The 3 is not a quality level or millimetres per second. Supported values depend on model and printhead. Identical previews do not prove equal physical print quality at both speeds.
Test on a real printer
The viewer helps check the layout, but does not simulate the mechanism, media or persistent printer settings. Record the original settings and restore them after testing.
